‘A Cornish Railway’ is a OO Gauge Model Railway that has been designed to be taken to exhibition.

The layout is based on St. Austell Railway Station and its Goods Yard as it would have been in the summer of 1982.

The Model Railway is being built in 3 phases. The first phase, the station and its sidings, was completed in 2014 and exhibited at the Woking Model Railway Exhibition the same year.

Phase 2, which includes a large Fiddle Yard will be exhibited at Woking in Sep2017.

Phase 3 will include the extensive Goods Yard.

St. Austell is a large town in Cornwall, England famous for its China Clay works. The railway station at St. Austell was first built in 1882 and the date can still be seen etched on the sides of the old footbridge that spans the station platforms.

St. Austell is also well known for the Wheal Martin Museum, Eden Project and beautiful sandy beach at Carlyon Bay.
